We interviewed Amelia, associated with the Galicia Family Destination label, to tell us about her active tourism company Atlantis Adventure, in Cee (A Coruña).

1.What is family fun for you?

For us family fun is where everyone, both children and parents forget the routine burdens and share experiences together, that after living them, we continue sharing them at home, with friends and family creating joys and laughs of anecdotes. 

2. What is the difference between your company and others in the sector that do not specialize in the family sector?

First of all, the experience of so many years working with families in my area. Secondly because the activities are designed for everyone's enjoyment. And thirdly because the whole team has grown together and now we are parents and we know what we would like to spend with our children and family. And being able to share is a joy.

3. What does the family tourist highlight most about your company?

Joy, attention and security.

4. What are the main tourist resources in your area?

The microclimate that makes this area an authentic wonder, with its natural and fresh smells, the natural colors of nature and its quiet beaches of white sand.

5.Why is Galicia a good destination for families?

For safety and tranquillity. It is not overcrowded as in other regions that cause unconscious worry to parents and are transmitted to children. Because children are also stressed and even if they do not say it directly, they express it in their tantrums, in hyperactivity, etc. If it is true that we don't have big amusement parks, etc. but the children don't need it. We have proved by our experience that with the simplest shared game and good communication in our natural setting giving value, they are amazed. And a happy child makes parents happy. And everything revolves around the family.

6. Do foreign families come to your establishment?

If we have two years with a rebound of foreign families.

7. Tell us an anecdote about a tourist family in your establishment.

Well then! A single-parent family with their three daughters, came from Madrid, because the father wanted them to leave their mobile phone, Tablet, etc. to one side and do other activities, the truth is that the man for his situation did not know where the poor man had gone. At first they didn't want to, denied and saying dad this is a bore, let's go home. And in the end he convinced them and the adventure. Daddy chose the activity of Coasteering, an activity that we go around the coast in the Corcubión area where we tell stories, explore caves and jump into pools. We began equipping ourselves there the girls laughed at the father because it was difficult for him to put on the wetsuit and one of them said to him: Do you look like a sausage? Ja,ja,ja Niña caya that we are in Galicia not in Catalonia, the truth a lot of laughter and began the connection between them.... Then in the process of the activity the girls enjoyed a lot, laughing with the father because he did not jump into the sea and the father enjoyed very much to see that his girls jumped, enjoyed and laughed all together. We are convinced that the experience did not only last that day, but they had a lot to tell and share afterwards.

8. Why would you recommend being part of Galicia Destino Familiar?

If it is true that we are in the process of taking off or at least that is how I see it, however we particularly and objectively think that it is a very important part of tourism. A tourism that is not in passing, our profile of clientele 70% are families and together we can navigate better. That's why when I received the information we loved it even though there's a lot to do. We hope that we will continue to strengthen and grow in this family destination and not abandon it because it is a very interesting motor axis.
